BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER

We’re honored to meet the unique needs of folks struggling with symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and those who have difficulty navigating intense emotions!

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a condition characterized by difficulties regulating emotions. This means that people who experience BPD feel emotions intensely, for extended periods of time, and it is harder for them to return to a stable baseline after an emotionally triggering event.

This difficulty can lead to impulsivity, poor self-image, stormy relationships and intense emotional responses to stressors. Struggling with self-regulation can also result in dangerous behaviors such as self-harm (e.g. cutting and other self-destructive behaviors).

At Davenport Creative Arts Therapy, we treat Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) holistically. We infuse aspects of core Mindfulness skills training with Art Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to address symptoms of BPD and emotional dysregulation.

As we know that DBT is the gold standard for treating Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), we are all DBT-informed providers. All therapists have completed a minimum of 5-days of intensive in person DBT training. All therapists receive ongoing DBT-informed mentoring from Emily Davenport who has completed 2.5 years of intensive DBT training and consultation with Shari Manning, PhD. We help children, adolescents and adults and adapt techniques to fit your unique needs.

We’d love to hear from you.
