Christi Meyer, M.A., LCAT, ATR-BC is a licensed, registered and nationally board certified creative arts therapist and advanced training facilitator.
Christi attended Pepperdine University and received a BA in Art and BA in Psychology. She continued her education at New York University and received a Master’s in Art Therapy.
Christi has completed a 8-week MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) course, and is pursuing intensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. In addition to her above mentioned training, Christi studied at SACI College of Art and Design in Florence, Italy, and holds specialized HIV prevention and counseling training from the University of London in England.
Christi is currently a supervisor at the BRC in New York City and regularly develops and conducts workshops and trainings for support staff. Christi has vast experience working with children and adults suffering from trauma, behavioral disorders, developmental disorders, serious and persistent mental illness and trauma. Specifically, she has over 10 years of experience working with homeless adults in California and New York.
Christi holds expertise in treating mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders as well as veterans and LGBTQ populations. Christi incorporates Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, breathing techniques, guided imagery, DBT skills in her art therapy practice and Wellness trainings.
