Art Therapy in Lower Westchester

Davenport Creative Arts Therapy, PLLC has recently expanded to a new Art Therapy office in lower Westchester. Davenport Creative Arts Therapy provides specialized art therapy services tailored for children, teens, young adults, and parents. The new therapy office is conveniently located at 434 White Plains Road, in Eastchester, New York, and offers a unique blend of therapeutic mental health support through individual and group Art Therapy in addition to parent coaching.

Davenport Creative Arts Therapy’s new Eastchester location employs a team of highly trained Art therapists who specialize in working with young clients and parents. These Westchester based therapists include Associate Art Therapists, Daniele Gentile, Vic Ingram, and Emilee Davis in addition to Graduate Art Therapy intern, Rachel Mandelbaum. These child and teen therapists use a variety of artistic modalities for improved wellness, including painting, drawing, sculpture, and other forms of creative expression. They offer child and teen therapy services that are aimed to help children and teens communicate and regulate emotions, process difficult experiences, manage unhelpful behaviors and improve self-esteem.

The Westchester Based therapists at the practice are also trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Skills and principles and the Nurtured Heart Approach (NHA) to provide comprehensive skills for individuals and families.

In addition to traditional therapy sessions, the new Art Therapy office will also host group sessions for our clients. These Art Therapy group sessions and workshops are beneficial for several reasons including:

  1. Provide opportunities for peer support and shared creative experiences.

  2. Create space for young people to socialize and collaboratively develop interpersonal skills. This communal space can be invaluable to teens as they offer a sense of community and the chance to connect with others who may be facing similar challenges.

  3. Participation in a group can support self esteem development; studies have shown that involvement in extracurricular activities such as an art therapy group is positively linked to greater self esteem development in adolescents.

The Eastchester Therapy office is designed to be a welcoming and safe space for clients of all ages to explore their emotions, develop coping skills, and improve mental health. With vibrant colors, engaging art materials, and dedicated spaces for different types of creative expression, the Art Therapy space aims to inspire and nurture the innate creativity in our clients as we support their mental health goals.
