Our Approach

At Davenport Creative Arts Therapy, we provide innovative alternatives to conventional talk therapy through the transformative power of art.

Our philosophy centers on holistic well-being, acknowledging and honoring every aspect of your being. We enhance traditional psychotherapy by expanding avenues for healing and wellness, recognizing that true mental health extends beyond addressing thought patterns alone. This comprehensive approach ensures a deeper, more meaningful journey toward personal growth and healing.

Reasons to Try Art Therapy

  • Approachable: Not everyone finds it easy to express their thoughts and emotions through words. Art therapy provides a non-verbal means of communication through various art forms.

  • Effective: Engaging in Art Therapy can help you tap into the subconscious, bringing forth thoughts, feelings, that may be difficult to access through words alone. This can lead to greater insight and self-awareness.

  • Integrative: Creating art can be a cathartic experience, allowing individuals to express emotions in a safe and constructive manner. This process of externalizing internal experiences through art can be highly therapeutic and can provide profound relief.

  • Mindful: Engaging in art therapy fosters flexibility of thinking and encourages individuals to explore new perspectives. This can be beneficial for individuals who may feel stuck or overwhelmed in traditional talk therapy.
