What is Mindfulness?

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the practice of bringing your awareness and attention fully into the present moment, without judgment. It involves becoming softly aware of your thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, and surroundings with a sense of openness and curiosity.

Whether you or your child feels trapped in anxious thoughts, I can help you foster a greater sense of calm.

I practice"Kindfulness”- a concept that combines mindfulness with kindness and self-compassion.

While mindfulness focuses on being present and aware without judgment, kindfulness emphasizes the addition of warmth, compassion, and gentleness toward oneself and others. It’s about cultivating a friendly and nurturing attitude, particularly when faced with difficult emotions or experiences.

How can Mindfulness Help?

Break the cycle of worry. Calm your stress response. Learn effective tools for managing anxiety, trauma, and unhelpful behavioral patterns.

Mindfulness practices can reduce self-judgment, enhance compassion, improve impulse control, calm anxious thoughts, and increase present-moment awareness.

My Mindfulness Training

As a Licensed Board-Certified Art Therapist with 20-years of mindfulness experience, my journey began in 2006 at a Zen Buddhist meditation retreat in Japan.

This sparked a passion that led to completing an 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course through Mindful Harlem, along with continuing education in breathwork and mindfulness-based art therapy.

I’ve integrated yoga, breathwork, and meditation into my daily life and had the privilege of attending the Yoga and Science Conference with Deepak Chopra. Mindfulness remains central to both my personal and professional practice.

If you’re feeling stuck, on edge, or find yourself in thought spirals, mindfulness-based therapy may be a good fit.

I offer Online Teletherapy and In-person Mindfulness-Based therapy in Eastchester.
