I’m Emily, a Westchester parent and licensed therapist.
I hold expertise in helping parents navigate behavioral issues, stress, and common mental health challenges such as anxiety, trauma, and depression.
My approach integrates the Nurtured Heart Approach (NHA), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Art Therapy to foster well-being..
I guide parents toward a connected and authentic relationship with themselves, and their children.
With a background in Behavior Therapy, Art Therapy, Coaching, and Mindfulness, I offer a unique approach to holistic parenting support.
You can feel more hopeful, break unhelpful cycles, and carve a better path forward.
As a parent, you may be feeling overwhelmed, exhausted and anxious because your child doesn’t listen.
You might be struggling with defiance, outbursts, or constant power struggles.
These challenges can take a toll on your own well-being, leaving you feeling depleted, frustrated, or even battling feelings of anxiety or depression.
“… We cannot exude patience if we don’t show ourselves patience. We cannot change externally until we have rewired internally. The quality of our relationships with others is only as good as the quality of the relationship we have with ourselves.”
― Dr. Becky Kennedy
Parent Coaching Vs. Therapy
Parent Coaching focuses primarily on the relationship between the parent and child. It is short-term, solution-focused, and stays in the present.
Parent coaching does not treat parental mental health issues, or address underlying unmet needs, or repair parent-child relationship ruptures.
I parent coaching, I will primarily use the Nurtured Heart Approach (NHA), coaching techniques and psycho education.
Therapy for parents is typically more in-depth and places emphasis on how past experiences affect present day parenting. Therapy for parents can address and treat mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and trauma.
In therapy, I will mainly use modalities such as DBT, EMDR, Art Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.
